A new factory that generates about 7,000 jobs for young people will be inaugurated today in the Free Trade Zone in Koggala by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The factory, which manufactures gloves, opens parallel to the holding of the second year of President Maithripala Sirisena in the office. It was established on 12 acres of land in the area.
Premier Wickremesinghe that the Minister of Development Industry then in 1994 opened the Koggala Free Trade Zone on June 14th and this glove manufacturing enterprise will be established there as their final project.
The British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, James Derris, Minister of Parliamentary Reform and Media Gayantha Karunathilake, and Minister of Petroleum Development Chandima Weerakkodi also participate.
